Well Snark, I have two options, go into full-on flame mode and simply be banned and not heard at all, or make coherent non-personal arguments and be heard. You went with the former and we saw what happened. We can't change any minds if we can't even be heard.
Well I know Jill is beyond gone, that much has been clear to me for years. It becomes extra apparent at times, but she is what she is. RWS is never going to call her on any of her nonsense, even though I know even she isn't that crazy. The most she'll ever do is gently disagree.
So where do you suggest I should engage? With enough people over there at once, I think we can make more of an impact and perhaps expand their horizons a bit. Colmes is completely neutered, given the format, but I can see why you would draw the comparison. If Colmes had a little help though, he could also change the dynamic.
Sparkie is every bit as crazy as Jill, with a touch of more evil intention.
She just hides it better.
I completely disagree with your opinion that, somehow, maybe with the right combination of words or examples or tone or number of voices or whatever, anyone who posts there will EVER change their minds, or even be open to what you or anyone else with a different opinion has to say.
That's simply not how wingnuts operate. That's just not the nature of rightwing authoritarian followers.
If you take even one suggestion of mine, it would be to read, and I mean really read, Altemeyer's work. He's the leading authority (funny choice of words) on the subject of authoritarianism. He's done the studies (and continues to conduct them), he's examined the evidence, and he's reached sound and supportable conclusions.
As this whole election comes down, and as the depth and breadth of McP.O.W.'s defeat starts to sink in, these people are only going to get even crazier. The more thoroughly their views are challenged, the more they dig in.
It's easy to predict: 1. They'll toss Mad Jack in the trash without a thought (he wasn't really a conservative; they didn't really like him anyway; he was too old, too soft, ran a lousy campaign, etc.). 2. They'll double up on demonizing Obama. If you thought they went after Clinton relentlessly, you haven't seen anything yet. 3. They'll flock to their latest savior, Caribou Barbie. The stage is already set.
Dude, it's like you're visiting an old-school mental hospital and trying to start a graduate-level seminar on how the works of William Shakespeare influenced post-modern philosophy or something.
The inmates don't understand a word you're saying and, what's more important, they don't give a sweet shit. They'd rather live out their delusions.
Stop hanging out at wingnut blogs or, if you do, call them on their bullshit.
Sure, it gets you banned. But at least you get to keep your self respect.
Alan Colmes is a weak tool. He endures humiliation in order to get paid.
I created this blog to share my thoughts, my musings, and my life. I want to add a voice of pragmatism to those of the ideologues and zealots. I'm a moderate Democrat. I'll debate anyone on anything, but I try to always do it with one eye on possible solutions. We all have a unique outlook on life. This is mine. Enjoy.

I see you never update your shitty little blog.
Maybe too much time indulging your MILF lust over at Sparkie's, eh?
Please, grow a pair. You're embarrassing yourself.
What a fucking tool.
How about not hiding behind an anonymous username, joker? Hehheh.
Sure. OK.
My name is erik grow.
Oh, I know who you are, rightwingsnarkle. Why are you coming here to bother me? We're on the same side hypothetically! What's the point?
We're on the same side hypothetically!
You equivocate too much to be on a "side."
Grow a pair. Take a side. Take a stand.
I'm not sure if the post is funnier or the comments.

It's interesting to watch the latest interactions.
If you think you can "change minds," you're really missing the boat.
Jill is the flat-out craziest, but her views are consistent with the other folks there.
Ever see anyone take issue? Ever see anyone ask her to tone it down?
Ain't gonna hapen. This is how these people think.
If you really want to understand what you're dealing with, I highly recommend 'The Authoritarians' by Robert Altemeyer.
Grab the book, by chapter, in pdf format here:

Seriously, dude. If you're intertested in engaging, it ain't gonna happen there. You're just a freaking punching bag.
Stop acting like Alan Colmes, fer crissake.
PS - My whole purpose has been to have some laughs and agitate. That doesn't work, either, since wingnuts have no sense of humor.

But, really, what gig is worth that?
Rock on.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Priceless.
and Sparkle is a lovely person and Jill. I won't hear a word against either of them :-)
So, don't listen.
Wanker.
