So this is apparently the guy that Bush wants for the Supreme Court now. I know little about him. I am trying to find some info on him now. I imagine he is probably anti-abortion and generally very conservative, but I will do some checking. There is a brief bio in the CNN story, and another here on the Fox News version if you prefer. Apparently he has recently said, "There's nothing in my personal views that would prevent me from fully and faithfully applying that precedent." I guess we'll see, won't we?

Erik, you are not alone, I too knew very little about him until the nomination. Now I am the definitive source on John Roberts information.
Here's a bio from Kos, scroll down a bit.

Oh, the quote was regarding abortion, by the way. I didn't include the whole quote. OK Two Dogs, I read the bio. Most of it doesn't seem to be good news to me. Not that any of this comes as a surprise. I'm not sure of his views because a lot of his work was done for clients of his, all Republicans, but I'm guessing he really is conservative. You might be dismayed to find that he's not a sure anti-Roe guy.
I don't think you liberals need worry. I doubt anyone who Bush appoints, pro-life or pro choice, Roe V Wade won't be overturned. Not that I'm happy about that - but that's life and this is were we live. Anyhow I'm not trying to debate your beliefs only predict that I doubt Roe V Wade (you know, the supreme court ruling allowing a "raped" girl to get an abortion when in fact years later she admitted she wasn't raped and eventually turned pro-life?) will ever be overturned.
In all truth, 62% of US citizens are against abortion, just saying.
Count me in Erik's 20% or Two Dogs' 62%, whichever. I keep hoping that we find a way to end legal abortion.
62% Two Dogs is people who want some restrictions, which could be nearly anything. It's all in the wording. First trimester, 18+, it'll be around 60% or close to it last I knew.
