Flying On September 11, 2005

It looks like I may be doing just that because of a friend's wedding. I don't really care that I may be doing it either. Would you fly on that date, given a reasonable option, or would you avoid it?

I have lots of other things in the hopper for my blog soon, but I was too busy today to fully do any of them justice.

Yes, because not only am I paranoid enough to believe it'll happen again - but on the same date too!

Hell yeah I'd fly on that day if I have to, cause all the wuss's in this country certainly won't be, and that means discounts and an empty seat next to me. Of course, I only fly first class anyways, and I never fly... so moot point.

Mark my words sissies - it'll never happen again. A Muslim fellow can't take a shit in this country without the F.B.I. knowing it's size, length and smell.

Spend some real money (at least $100) for a lawyer and get a real will made. Then nothing will ever, ever happen to you.

I used this strategy when I flew to Sri Lanka in January 1984, just 4 months after all their troubles started. Worked like a charm!

Hector, you have NEVER flown before? You sound like my in-laws.

Tom, that's funny, but you know, I was going to do that anyway a few months back just for piece of mind. I have heard that you can do it even cheaper online now too.

My ordinary life has changed very little since the attacks on our country by Muslims. If I need to fly to anywhere, at any time, I'm headed to the airport.

No, I've flown before - I didn't say I never have flown - I just don't anymore (at least that's what I meant.)

I haven't flown since a trip to Vegas in uh... May 2001... first class red eye. Not too bad...

And they don't like being called 'Stewardesses.'

I think that should be "peace" of mind, Erik

I have flown two time on that date since 2001. Aside from strange security and uncrowded planes, it was no different.

I've only flown once since Sep 11, 01, and that was also the first time I'd be in a plane in 10 years. I was alot more nervous this time but I'm not sure that 9/11 had any more to do with it than the fact that as an adult I'm alot less trusting of everything in general than I was at age 16. I spent the entire flight thinking of how easy it would be for one little screw (or whatever) somewhere in the plane to fail to do its job and result in the plane being turned into a giant fireball of death. I guess I'd fly on 9/11/05 if I had to, but I admit I'd rather take the flight on the tenth or twelfth if it was an option.

I will be flying on Sept 11 2005. My flight # is Flight 11 with United Airlines. In fact, I have been flying every sept 11 since 2002. I was in New York on September 11, 2001 and witnessed United 175 plunged into 2 World Trade Center, I thought what better way could I do to remember this horrific day than flying on September 11.
